Lesson Learned

Don't run on an injured ankle!

I have been out of commission for a full week now - no running, no jogging and not even any walking. I stupidly decided to run even though my ankle was hurting last tuesday, and when I woke up the next day it was in a huge amount of pain that has continued.

Icing helps, but I'm extremely frustrated now that the weather has turned so nice. I desperately want to get back to the regimen, but even taking Oliver for a 30 minute walk in the afternoon is very painful.

I did, however, pick up a new hands-free leash for when I get back on my feet and I am investigating some nicer running shoes. Here's hoping I will be able to resume soon.

In addition to my lack of exercise for the last week, I have been eating horribly. This is crunch time at work, and there isn't always time to stop for lunch. We're also eating a lot of pizza and cake, so...yeah.

My biggest challenges this week are going to be trying to get a little exercise w/o making my ankle any worse and trying not to eat too badly. Hopefully I can get back into my place, too. It will be nice to settle into a healthy routine at my actual house!
